Seasonal fayre

Highlights of the seasonal break: a visit with Rebecca to Grimshaw's Bath Spa- worth the wait- to dip into the rooftop hot pool in the freezing but romantic Bath dusk; a cycling sojourn in Bath fog to find a forgotten Womersley masterpiece, Valley Spring exhausting but worth the hike-grateful thanks for directions from the redoubtable lodge keepers of a National Trust property; a quick hello to our Jedburgh Bothy client at his tempting wine and spirit shop Barrique in Bath's George Street. Back to Edinburgh for seasonal fair and Duffy get togethers; convivial dinner at the painterly McFadyen's Edinburgh New Town flat (further to masterful GD improvements); braving gale force winds to catch Hogmanay fireworks from Blackford hill with Rebecca and Dan, wonderful; an East Lothian foray to find yet another underrated Wom building in Haddington- Herdmanflat Hospital-sensitively handled with elegant elevational play and still in good nick.

Onwards into 007: lodging Bothy conversion near Hawick and scheme for 45 apartments and commercial space on the site of the former Murieston Wireworks this week.

Other things to look forward to: Glenburn Steading, Jedburgh; cool new house at 39b Watson Crescent; 34 microlofts on site at Peffermill Road; new housing for single mothers at Inglis Green Gait, all Edinburgh, Bethnal Green house, London...and more
