Studio DuB -formerly Duffy & Batt-was formed in 2006 to promote excellence in architecture, urban and interior design . Their award winning work is informed by an approach that is innovative, practical and stimulating.

Award winning projects and recognition include: Winner RIBA Green Dragons Den Competition 2007; thePress, Edinburgh, Saltire Awards Commendation 2005; Sydney Cottage, Crail, 2005; Greenore, Eskbank, 2004; final cut of the Building Design UK Regeneration Architect of the Year 2004; Glen Arthur, Edinburgh, Roses Awards Commendation 2003; Glenburn Hall, Borders Architectural Awards Commendation 2000; Leithlofts, Scottish Design Awards Commendation 2000, Regeneration Scotland Awards Short List '99.

The practice has been well represented in tenders and competitions including the Greyfrairs Community Project, Edinburgh; Tron Square Redevelopment, Edinburgh; Waverley Solar Station concept, Short Listed in the Pan European PV Design Competition 2000, and making the Glasgow Tower Competition final cut.

Leithlofts was shown in a special feature length edition of Scottish Television's The Home Show.


Principal

Gordon Duffy -Native of Edinburgh, studied Interior Design at Napier College, Edinburgh and Architecture at the Polytechnic of Central London and the Royal College of Art, London. He spent a year as an interior designer with Design Factors in Edinburgh, 5 years as an architect with Piers Gough at CZWG Architects in London, renowned for high profile, innovative design. On returning to Edinburgh in 1991, he spent 2 years with Ben Tindall Architects, noted for their work with historic buildings.

Duffy & Batt were formed in 1993, Charlotte Batt moved on from the practice to form Rosehip Properties and the practice changed name to Studio DuB in 2006

Gordon has also tutored extensively in architecture and design, was nationally elected on to RIAS Council and is a member of the RIBA, RIAS and ARB. He was appointed as an enabler to Architecture and Design Scotland (ADS) in 2006
